We are so excited to start a new school year at Hayden Peak Elementary. We have missed our students and families and teachers. It is fun to hear the buzz and feel the energy that those very important pieces bring to our school.
We had a fantastic Back to School Night. In case you missed it, here are some of the highlights:
PTA had a booth set up showcasing all the things they do for our students and school. They provide funding for field trips, put together the Fun Run and Field Day, sponsor multiple weeks focusing on safe habits and practices and are in charge of Reflections. PTA also provides help for teachers in the classroom, meals for teachers at Parent Teacher Conferences and helps with Harmony Choir. The cost to join PTA is $5.00, and it is money well spent. If you haven't joined PTA, we encourage families to join.
School Community Council also had a booth set up. School Community Council is a group made up of parents, teachers, administrators and community members. They help make decisions in how to spend Trust Land money for the school. The have an annual fundraiser to raise money for the school. This year they are selling Little Caesar's cards, where every pizza bought allows for free Crazy Bread Combos. If you would like to join School Community Council, we would love to have you. They meet four times throughout the year, usually on a Friday morning before school starts. Contact the school if you would like to part of this very important group.
We served hotdogs, chips, drinks, and Otter Pops to all who came and visited with teachers, PTA, and School Community Council. Our PTA and School Community Council, as well as Sam’s Club in Jordan Landing, generously donated money and water for this event. We received very positive comments about this format for Back to School Night, and we enjoyed this community event as well.
Thank you to all of our volunteers who helped with our parking blitz the first two weeks of school. Please remember to follow the procedures for picking up and dropping off students.
- Pull all the way forward to the yellow line or the car in front of you. (Please do not stop without pulling completely forward.)
- Stay in your vehicle and pull forward as space becomes available.
- Students should enter and exit vehicles on the curbside of the road. (Arrange car seats to accommodate.)
- Yield to students in crosswalks and obey safety patrol students and teachers.
- There is no parking in the pick-up/drop-off loop. (If you are checking students in or out of school, please park in the parking lot.
Please help keep all of our students and patrons safe by following our procedures.
Finally, Hayden Peak wants all of our students to do well in school and in life. We have updated our mission and vision statements, and our motto.
Our mission is to engage students’ minds to excel academically,
think critically, and be kind and ethical.
Empowering lifelong learners through the partnerships of family, school, and community.
Engage, Empower, Excel
Thank you for all your support. We are excited for a new year of learning and opportunities.

School is back in session! Did the summer just seem to fly for you too? We are so excited to have our students and teachers back in the building. It gets kind of lonely when our favorite people are not at Hayden Peak.
We have had some changes over the summer. Change can be hard for people, but they can be very good too. This year we are pleased to welcome the following teachers to Hayden Peak Elementary.
- Sierra Brooke is teaching Kindergarten.
- Regan Stowell will be teaching 3rd
- Lisa Martin will also be teaching 3rd
- Amanda Frandsen is teaching 5th
- Emily Machin is teaching 6th
- Cindy Smith is also teaching 6th
Along with our new teachers, we had some teachers who wanted to embark on a new adventure and have changed grades. We are happy they are still here.
- Cherie Lawson will be teaching 2nd grade this year.
- Kristen Jarman will be teaching 3rd
- Sarah Roberts will be teaching 3rd
- Lani Vigil is going to teach 4th
- Stefanie Walker is going to teach 5th
- Sharra Palmer will also be teaching 5th
- Debra Banning will be teaching 6th
We are excited for the changes we have made. We have a fantastic faculty at Hayden Peak and can't wait for you to get to know them. We also have a marvelous support staff! We couldn't do it without them.
This year at Hayden Peak we will continue some of the things we started last year. We will have our art teacher, music, P.E., computer, and media assistants, as well as assistants to teach Meet the Masters. We saw success last year with Assessment to Achievement and can't wait to continue to improve our strategies, teaching and learning.
Remember that Hayden Peak is a 7 Habits school. We embrace the 7 Habits and find ways to incorporate them into our daily lives. The seven habits are: Be proactive, Begin with the end in mind, Put first things first, Think win-win, Seek to understand and then to be understood, Synergize and Sharpen the saw. We believe these are life skills that help students find success. What ways do you use the 7 Habits in your families?
We can't wait to get into the swing of school. Please remember that instruction begins at 8:30, students are brought in at 8:25 and when students are late they miss important information. Please be to school on time!
Again WELCOME BACK!!! It's going to be a great year and we can't wait to get going!
