4th Grade

Logan Carstensen
4th Grade Teacher
Hi! My name is Logan Carstensen, and I am so excited for this new journey at Hayden Peak Elementary! I previously taught 4th grade at James Madison Elementary up in the Ogden School District for the past four years, and I am looking forward to continuing my teaching career in the Jordan School District!
I grew up in Wooster, Ohio and I graduated from Weber State University in 2017. I love living in beaUTAHful Utah, but my loyalty in sports is with my Cleveland sports teams and THE Ohio State Buckeyes. Other than being a sports fanatic, I love to workout, hike/explore, cook yummy food, draw, and hang out with my family, fiance and friends. I believe that all students have the opportunity to achieve greatness, and I will make absolutely certain that all of my students will be prepared for their bright futures. My favorite quote is “Our greatest opportunities are often disguised as what seem like impossible situations”. I look forward to meeting my new fourth graders, and I am so excited to be a part of their journey to a successful education!

My name is Jenn Crawford and I love being a teacher at Hayden Peak! I have been working in and around education since 2005. I have been an employee of Jordan School District since 2013. I spent five years working with an amazing special education team at Blackridge Elementary as a para-educator. This inspired me to finish my degree in elementary education and I started my career as a teacher in 2020 at Hayden Peak.

When I am not teaching I love to be outside! I like boating, skiing, and exploring beautiful places with my family. I love the turquoise water of Bear Lake and the red rock of St. George. Digging in the dirt and taking care of plants is my idea of a Saturday well spent. Reading books, learning new things, and being inquisitive about the world around us is something that helps me continue to learn and become a better person. I believe that the two most important qualities a student can have in order to succeed is to work hard and choose a good attitude. Those two qualities will help any child become a successful student and person. I am grateful for the opportunity I have as an educator to learn and grow from being together in the classroom. Hayden Peak is a wonderful place to be.

Hello! My name is Michelle Lundgren. I have been teaching fourth grade at Hayden Peak since 2015. I have a BS in Applied Mathematics from the University of Utah (GO UTES!). I am half of the duo that runs the after school math program (NumberCrunchers), in preparation for our District-wide competition every spring. I have two children, who are both away at college. My husband and I enjoy going on road trips to see unique places in our great country. I like trying new foods and cooking new recipes. I also enjoy celebrating obscure holidays (Pi day is my FAVORITE!). I love to challenge my students, to show them that they CAN do it. I especially love to help students who struggle have “lightbulb moments”. Nothing makes teaching more rewarding than watching a student finally overcome the obstacles to their learning.

“Once upon a time, there was a little blonde, curly-headed girl who sat at her little brown roll top desk for hours, “correcting” work that she made for her students (poor sisters and brother).  This little girl always dreamed of growing up and being a teacher. She grew up, got married, and became the proud mother of four children before finally achieving her dream of being a teacher.”

This little girl is me, Lani Jo Vigil. I grew up in Sandy, Utah where I was the Jordan High mascot my senior year. I was raising four children while earning my BA in Elementary Education from Westminster College and went on to earn a MA in Curriculum and Assessment from University of Phoenix. I have endorsements in history and ESL (English as a second language), but my Love is MUSIC!!  My family is MOST important to me, especially my grandchildren… Samantha Jo is my 1st and she’s a teenager living in Salt Lake City, Jack, Abram, & their sister Annie live in South Jordan , and Tory James (TJ), Olyvia, Allyson & Myles who live in Sacramento, are my GREATEST REWARDS! Not to forget all my three Grandpuppies.. This will be my 32nd year teaching, 20 of which were 6th grade, 4 years of 5th grade, 2 years of 2nd grade, and this will be my 6th time teaching 4th grade! I really appreciate this school and the community for making me feel welcome here…the resources, faculty, parent support and participation have been AWESOME! I look forward to another wonderful year with your 4th grader!
