Hi! My name is Logan Carstensen, and I am so excited for this new journey at Hayden Peak Elementary! I previously taught 4th grade at James Madison Elementary up in the Ogden School District for four years, and I am looking forward to my second year at Hayden Peak Elementary!
I grew up in Wooster, Ohio and I graduated from Weber State University in 2017. I love living in beaUTAHful Utah, but my loyalty in sports is with my Cleveland sports teams and THE Ohio State Buckeyes. Other than being a sports fanatic, I love to workout, hike/explore, cook yummy food, draw, and hang out with my family and friends. I believe that all students have the opportunity to achieve greatness, and I will make absolutely certain that all of my students will be prepared for their bright futures. My favorite quote is “Our greatest opportunities are often disguised as what seem like impossible situations”. I look forward to meeting my new fourth graders, and I am so excited to be a part of their journey to a successful education

Hello! I am Mrs. Dean and am thrilled to be a part of the Hayden Peak community. I previously taught 5th grade for 2 years at Redwood Elementary in Granite School District. I have worked with children in a number of different capacities for the past 6 years and feel passionately about helping them learn, grow, and live up to their full potential. I graduated from the University of Utah in 2019 with my Bachelors degree. I was born and raised in Salt Lake City and feel very fortunate to be able to raise my own family here. I am a mom to two super awesome boys. They both play baseball which means we spend A LOT of time at the baseball fields! Watching them play and cheering them on is my absolute favorite thing to do!

Hello! I’m Mrs. Goodwin and I want to make this year fun and successful for everyone.  I’m looking forward to getting to know you and your child.  After fifteen years of teaching preschool I moved to 5th grade, where I hope to stay for a very long time.  My job is also a hobby, I really do like it that much.  Teaching and children are my jam.  It is important to me that every student feels valued in my classroom.  Outside of that I love decorating, boating with my family, and reading, especially the classics.  My favorite superheroes are Rocket & Star Lord (Guardians) and I think Diet Mt Dew is a food group.

I am so excited to teach 5th grade again this year. I love teaching! I wanted to be a teacher from a very young age. I grew up here in West Jordan until I was 12 years old. My family then moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. I learned a lot in my experiences down there and I’m grateful for the different perspectives I gained, especially culturally.  I moved back to Utah to go to college on a music scholarship. I met my husband during this time and we have 3 children. We raised our children for the most part in West Jordan. My own kids went to Hayden Peak for almost all of their schooling. I love this area and the people in the community. I love music! ( I love to sing and play the piano or the oboe. I also love to listen to all types of music, but especially 80’s “New Wave” music and 90’s alternative. Haha!) I love to travel, refurbish old furniture, and eat good food! Dark chocolate and Coke Zero can solve all problems. 😉
