Dear Parents,

October 9-13 is GREEN RIBBON Week, which focuses on safety awareness. Each day, we will be focusing on a different area of safety. We also will have some different activities and prize drawings for those participating. The students should have come home with a student and driver safety pledge. It comes with a green ribbon attached to it, which your child can tie onto their backpack or bike. Please read through the safety suggestions on the flier and have your child sign and return it. Each student who returns their signed pledge will be entered into a drawing for a new bicycle helmet! Each day has a different theme:

  • Monday, October 9 – Safety Focus: Stranger Danger and Playground Safety.
    • Be a Team Player in safety – Wear Sports Attire
  • Tuesday, October 10 – Safety Focus: Pedestrian Safety and Safe Walking Routes.
    • Be Bright, Be Safe – Wear Bright or Neon Colors
  • Wednesday, October 11 – Safety Focus: Seatbelts, Car Seats and Bike Helmets.
    • Don’t Be Crazy, Be Proactive about your Safety - Crazy Hair Day
  • Thursday, October 12 - Safety Focus: Home and Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness
    • Sock it to Safety – Wear Crazy Socks
  • Friday, October 13 - Safety Focus: Internet Safety
    • Don’t get sleepy about your Safety – Pajama Day

Also, Walk to School day is Tuesday, October 10. All students walking to school that morning will receive a small prize. Remember to use safe walking routes and cross the street with the crossing guard. 

At Hayden Peak, safety is a priority. Please discuss the safety topics above with your children. Please follow all traffic rules around the school and always use crosswalks and sidewalks. 

Pick-up and Drop-Off Reminders

Also, just a friendly reminder that the drop off lane in front of the school is intended for a quick exit from the passenger side of the vehicle. We have an aide helping to direct the flow of traffic. Please pull as far forward as possible before letting your child exit the car. If your child needs help getting out of the car or any other reason then please park in the parking lot and help your child safely get to the crossing guard. The parking lot is not meant to be an additional drop off zone.

Friday, October 6th there will be no school as it is a compensatory day for teachers staying late for conferences.

Here are a few reminders from this week at Hayden Peak!

No School on Monday, September 4th

Parking at Hayden Peak

 Handicapped Parking

When parking here at Hayden Peak, please only use the Handicapped parking spots if you have a state-issued Handicapped parking pass or plates.  These parking spots allow for wheelchair access that is not possible in a regular parking spot.

Drop-off and Pick-up

Please park your car in the parking lot if you need to come into the school when picking up or dropping off your students.  We ask that you refrain from parking, even temporarily, in the drop-off areas as this causes a back-up of traffic that delays other families from getting their students picked up or dropped off.

School Spirit Wear

Orders are due Saturday, September 2nd for the school spirit wear.  All orders will be delivered to your student at school.

Estacionamiento en Hayden Peak

Estacionamiento para discapacitados

Cuando estacione aquí en Hayden Peak, asegúrese de usar solo los lugares de estacionamiento para discapacitados si tiene un pase o placas de estacionamiento para discapacitados emitidos por el estado. Estos espacios de estacionamiento permiten el acceso para sillas de ruedas que no es posible en un lugar de estacionamiento regular.

Dejar y recoger

Por favor estacione su automóvil en el estacionamiento si necesita entrar a la escuela cuando recoja o deje a sus estudiantes. Le pedimos que se abstenga de estacionar, incluso temporalmente, en las áreas de entrega, ya que esto causa un atasco de tráfico que retrasa a otras familias a la hora de recoger o dejar a sus estudiantes.

Welcome back everyone!
We are excited to have everyone back to school next week!  If you have not done so, please complete your annual registration in Skyward by this Friday.  If you have moved and will not be attending Hayden Peak please call the office to withdraw your student.  Listed below are a few reminders to make a note of.

Back to School Night - Monday, August 21 - 5:30pm to 7pm

This is an open house style evening.  Come anytime between 5:30 and 7pm to visit your new classroom and meet your new teacher.

1st Day of School - August 22, 2023

School Hours:

    • 8:25 to 3:05 Monday - Thursday
    • 8:25 to 12:25 Fridays(Early Out)
    • Students line up outside their grade-level doors
    • The line-up bell rings at 8:22

Kindergarten

Kindergarten's first day will be August 30th.  Please watch your email for information regarding the Beginning of Year testing that takes place from August 22nd, 23rd, 24th, and 25th.

Breakfast & Lunch

Breakfast served from 7:45 am until 8:15 am

Prices for breakfast and lunch have gone up this year.  The new prices are:

Breakfast: $1.05
Lunch: $2.00

You can pay for breakfast and lunches by sending money into the office or paying online in Skyward.  Here is a link to the instructions to help you through that process. Family Access-Lunch & Fee Payments

Supplies Needed:

All supplies needed in the classroom will be provided by the teacher.  The teachers may have a wishlist for items that could be donated for classroom use.  The only items that the students need to start school are listed below:

    • Full-sized backpack (no wheels)
    • Water bottle - only water
    • All other supplies are provided by the teacher.

If your student will not be at school, you can call the school and leave a message on our Attendance line.  The Attendance line is available 24 hours a day so you can call anytime to leave the absence information.
