Dear Parents/Guardians:

We want to hear about your experience with your student’s education. We invite you to participate in completing the Utah School Climate Survey from the Utah State Board of Education. This survey includes questions about your student’s learning, school safety, and interpersonal relationships, as well as your attitudes about the institutional environment and your personal involvement in school. Your responses will be very helpful in improving student relationships, learning conditions, and the overall school environment.

Beginning today, Wednesday, March 24, we invite all parents, guardians and caretakers to complete this survey.  We ask that you please take this survey for each school at which you have one or more students enrolled. The survey is completely confidential and brief; it will take about six minutes to complete. Please submit your responses by May 7, 2021.

Survey results will only be reported as group responses. There are no right or wrong answers. We just want to know about your personal experiences. Responses are housed securely in an anonymous format with the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) for evaluation research purposes. All evaluation research projects are in compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act, (343 CFR 99.31 (6)) and human subjects regulations (Protection of Human Subjects 45 CFR 46).

As you respond to each item, think about your own personal experiences as a parent, caregiver or guardian at your student’s school. Please answer all of the questions.

We hope you will take the time to provide us with this valuable information. Each school’s total survey results will be used to inform and develop appropriate strategies, procedures, and/or programs to enhance our school climate.

Parents,

Beginning in the Fall of 2021, students in Jordan School District in grades K-12 have the option to enroll in a virtual school.  The current virtual options through Hayden Peak will end at the end of the 2020-21 school year. Pre-registration at Rocky Peak Virtual Elementary School for the 2021-2022 will begin February 1st and continue until Summer 2021. However, because you will be un-enrolling your students from their current boundary elementary school and enrolling them in the Rocky Peak Virtual Elementary School, it is important to complete your registration form as soon as possible. This will allow both schools to make informed decisions about the number of teachers for each school. Final registration will need to be completed by August 2021 as you commit to Rocky Peak Virtual Elementary School for the 2021-2022 school year.

Pre-registration will be done online this year using the form link below. If there are families in your neighborhood who currently attend charter, home, or private schools but plan to attend Rocky Peak Virtual Elementary next year, please feel free to share this information with them.

Please see the attached flyer introducing Rocky Peak Virtual Elementary.

Dear Parents,

It is important that we obtain an accurate list of all children qualifying for kindergarten in the Jordan School District for the 2021-2022 school year.  If you have a child that will be five years of age on or before September 1, 2021, the child qualifies for next year’s kindergarten program.  State law requires that all school districts in Utah abide by the same September 1st entrance cut-off date.   You will be required, before school starts, to bring the child’s immunization record and an original certified birth certificate (not a photocopy) to the school.

Please begin the registration process with the instructions below.

  • Please log on to planning.jordandistrict.org/enrollment and scroll down to “New Student Enrollment”.
  • Choose either “Temporary Account for New Student Enrollment” if you are new to the district, or “New Student Enrollment” if you already have a Skyward account.
  • Fill out the enrollment information. Please enter the child’s full name as it appears on the birth certificate.
  • After “Step #4”, be sure to submit the application.

In order to get a preliminary count for the new school year we ask that you please complete the information online by Friday, February 19th, 2019.

An informational kindergarten orientation meeting for parents and prospective kindergarten students will be held later in the Spring.  This meeting may be held via Zoom or here in-person depending upon the status of the pandemic at that time.  At the orientation you will be provided information regarding the pre-k screening, forms needed for registration, other important dates, and have the opportunity to make your AM or PM class request.

If you know of a neighbor that has a qualifying kindergarten child, please share this information with them and encourage them to log on and register their kindergarten child.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Fisher

Principal
